I try to be honest with my reviews. The landscape was great. The decor reminds you of the history behind the hotel. A vision was had and the vision was made to be an all in one comfortable and relaxing stay. A speakeasy with a bookshelf door. A dining room lead by a chef who clearly takes pride in delivering flavor and a local experience. Initially, I was greeted by a young, eager to please staff. Honest and polite. Even during the busiest hour, they'd stop to answer questions that I'm sure we're asked a thousand times in the past. After we settled down in our room, we wanted to get diner. So we went down stairs and got one of THE MOST condescending server I've ever run in to. It's as if our existence ruined her day. She seemed as though the 6 of us, by ordering beverages and apps were the wrong thing to do in this place where you're supposed to order drinks and appetizers. We ordered diner, still super awkward. Diner came, refills took forever. The food was great. I can't tell you enough, the food, was great. It wasn't a case of "maybe they were just having a bad day" because the next morning, it was all the same. My family enjoys a vacation. We know with how hard we work and how special the weekend was, we deserve it. Did we let it get us? No. We had a laugh at just how mean this person was. A lesser family wouldn't I think. You'll love this place if you love history, a mostly kind staff and an easy come easy go hotel that isn't a run of the mill name brand spot.

We had an absolutely spectacular dining experience on a Saturday night. The service was both attentive and personable, making us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, enhanced by a beautiful garden view that added to the charm. Each of the four entrées we tried was a masterpiece—fresh, flavorful, and impeccably prepared. The truffle chips appetizer is an absolute must, and the salads, complete with homemade croutons, were simply delicious. This is a place we’ll be returning to, eager to explore more of their incredible menu. If you get the chance, don’t miss out on this culinary gem—you’ll be glad you did!

I frequently stay at the Wakefield and will continue to stay because of their wonderful staff. Hope the inn keeper is incredibly kind and accommodating. She wears a million hats, and does an amazing job at all of them.

Such a fabulous dining experience! We love unique and out of the way places to visit. Coming from about 45 minutes away, the Wakefield Inn did not disappoint!! Upon entering the inn, we were in love with the simple charm and throw back feel the Inn had to offer. As you walk through the front door you are greeted with a beautiful spiral staircase leading the way to the rooms upstairs, and a bookshelf-door left ajar which gives an inviting entrance to the quaint speakeasy hidden behind it. A friendly hostess greeted us at the check-in counter, who showed us to our table in the dining room. The dining room is intimate and charmingly decorated with tables spaced around the large central fireplace. On the backside of the dining room is a large picture window giving us a snowy view of the woods behind the inn. Our waitress, Hope, was just a joy to talk with, and her enthusiasm for the Inn came through with her brilliant personality. To say dinner was delicious is understating the meal. The selection is small, however all offerings looked fabulous. We settled on the Crab Dip appetizer, Tuscan Steak Tips, Veal Parmesan, and the Tiramisu for dessert. If you enjoy crafted cocktails, the offerings are very tempting. I enjoyed the Valentine's Day special, Chocolate Covered Strawberry Martini, and my husband had the Smooth and Smokey. We were not disappointed by what was served to us. The Wakefield Inn was such a wonderful find and we are looking forward to planning another visit!

We have eaten here a few times. The table service is great but we like to sit at the bar it has a great vibe. Burgers are fantastic and the drinks (and the bartender Ali) are excellent. We have had great entrees here like the Tuscan ravioli and the stuffed mushroom cap appetizer is first rate.

We had a great stay at the Wakefield Inn! We stayed in Room 1 (Tibbetts Room). It was very spacious with a nice sized bathroom. Everything was very clean and amenities thoughtful. A very quiet and relaxing stay. Staff was very friendly.

I booked this place without realizing it was a bed and breakfast, not a typical hotel. I stayed for one night — Friday, October 24, 2025 — and checked out the next morning. My GPS initially took me to the wrong address (about 0.7 miles away), so I called the number listed on my reservation. After two tries, a very kind lady answered. I’ll admit, I was a bit frustrated on the call because I didn’t understand the setup at first. But she handled it so politely and guided me step-by-step to the correct location. She even stayed on the phone until I arrived and helped me check in smoothly. Once I got there, I was blown away. The property was beautiful, the room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. It turned out to be one of the best stays I’ve had in a long time. If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely stay here again. 100% satisfied and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming experience.

First of all, I cannot comment on the rooms because we didn't stay there. We went for valentine's dinner. First and foremost, our server Hope was fantastic. She was pleasant, engaging an overall had a very welcoming vibe. The food for the most part was delicious the portions were ample. The pork sirloin with the fig jelly was delicious. The onion soup was very tasty. But I have to say I did miss the crouton. I ordered the lobster sliders, which I was really looking forward to and unfortunately was somewhat disappointed, as the roles came out hard and stale. The manager came over and he was very receptive. He did check the other rolls and said there was an issue with them.So he did take them off our bill. I have to cut him some slack.Because I think he might have thought they were appetizers, but they were my meal, and I wasn't offered a replacement. Overall, it's a very charming place. The food was delicious. The service was good and we will be back. One thing to point out in the wintertime, parking is a little difficult.
